I finally stayed at The Cherry KC last weekend after hearing all the hype — and honestly, I was surprised by how quiet and peaceful it was!
Given it’s in the city, I expected some street noise, but it was shockingly serene. Also, the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in — better than some five-star hotels I’ve tried.
Curious, what surprised you guys most about your visit?
Same here — I expected it to feel “boutique” but not that curated. Every corner of that place felt intentional.
But the biggest surprise for me? The little things: the handwritten welcome card, Nest soaps, local snacks, even the books and magazines in the room weren’t generic.
It felt like staying at a super stylish friend’s loft rather than a hotel. And I loved that there were no corporate vibes anywhere.
That’s awesome to hear! I was surprised by the quietness too in https://www.thecherrykc.com/ especially being so close to downtown. The way they’ve designed the space really blocks out the city noise, creating this peaceful retreat vibe. And yes, the beds are insanely comfy — I felt like I was sleeping on clouds! What caught me off guard was how personal and welcoming the whole place felt, almost like staying at a friend’s stylish loft rather than a hotel. Definitely a standout experience compared to typical city stays.
